Welcome to the Hundred of Hoo School.

This website aims to give you a flavour of the vibrant, innovative and supportive atmosphere which is the heartbeat of our learning community.

We are working hard to build an excellent centre of learning where each individual is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. We pursue this goal by providing a responsive and creative curriculum and a common vision which pupils, staff, parents and the wider community share and help to shape.

Hoo students make the a-list

There were broad smiles all round as hard working Hoo students celebrated their GCSE successes. Kieran Mellish, Rebecca Hewitt, Emma Mee and Anissa Ahkin were the school's top performers with 13 A* grades and 14 As between them. Overall, 33.2% of the year group achieved five or more GCSEs at grades A*-C including English and Maths, 3.2% above the 30% national benchmark and more than 8% up on last year. 61.5% of the year group achieved five GCSEs at grades A*-C, 10% up on last year.

Other notable performances came from Jade Place and Kurtis Heffernan, who both achieved an average of grade B across the board.

Head of School, Kevin Mahon, joined students as they opened their results envelopes, and said 'I feel very proud of our students who have worked so hard for these results and of teachers and support staff who went the extra mile and more to support them'. Executive Principal, Dr Gary Holden, said 'I offer my congratulations to those students who today have met or exceeded their targets and thank staff for their hard work. Today's results demonstrate that the Hundred of Hoo is making a very good recovery from being placed in Special Measures last year, and will go a long way to restoring the confidence of the whole community in the school'.

Dr Peter Clough, Chair of Governors, added 'These are record results for the school, which mark a turning point in the fortunes of the Hundred of Hoo, with a clear trend of rising standards. However, we are not complacent: these results are a platform for even greater success in the future'.
